A certified finding does not stop being evidence when it enters the resolution process. Resolve keeps the chain unbroken — action, response, verification and closure all on the same thread.
What it does.
Preserves lineage from finding to closure
The certified finding that enters Resolve is the root of the evidential chain. Every subsequent action, response and verification is appended to that chain — not held in a separate system.
Holds the evidence behind each response
A response is a substantive position, and it must come with the evidence the responding party relies upon. The record holds the response and the evidence together — they cannot be separated after the fact.
Requires evidential completeness before closure
Closure is a verification, not a status change. Before a finding may be closed, the evidential record must be complete — the basis for the final position must exist in the record before it is accepted.
Records the final position as a governed act
Closure requires a named authority to accept the evidential position and say so — on the record, with a date and basis that cannot be removed or amended.

The chain does not break at resolution.
A common failure in commercial assurance is that the finding record and the resolution record become separate things — the finding sits in one system; the responses, actions and eventual agreement sit in another. When the matter is later questioned, neither system tells the complete story.
Resolve is designed so that the closure record is a continuation of the finding record, not a reference to it. Every step from each finding through to the accepted final position is a single governed artefact.

The evidential basis for the final position was present in the record before closure was accepted, not reconstructed afterwards.
